One of my most anticipated movies this year is “Love, Simon”. The film is based on a YA novel by Becky Albertalli (in book form it’s called “Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda” but that’s probably not as marketable) and follows Simon, a high school student who no one knows is gay. Nick Robinson is Simon and after his charming performance in “Everything, Everything” he has the potential to really break out with this role.
In anticipation of the film’s release, the cast of “Love, Simon” is going on a tour. The Powered By Love Tour will take the film around the country to the top-voted cities for special screenings and Q&A’s with the cast. Voting was open on Instagram until February 18 and the votes are being counted as I type this. The states looking like they had the most votes included Texas, Georgia and New York. I’ll be posting the tour dates as soon as they’re announced, but in the meantime check out the trailer for “Love, Simon” below. It’s released March 16 and I could not be more excited for it. We all need a heartwarming gay story every once in a while.
