I’ve had a lot of people emailing me or commenting about where they can get a signed copy of Connor Franta’s new book, and if you are one of them, huzzah! You are in luck. Books-A-Million (my favorite book retail outlet tbh~) has exclusive autograph copies of A Work In Progress for only $16.99 (that’s $17, actually).
One of the first reasons I knew Connor would be coming out this year was when I saw his “memoir” sitting on Amazon’s recommended book pages a few months ago. What better way to come out than to write a book about it? This did not surprise me, and it shouldn’t surprise you either, as Connor’s entire career has been built on never subtle ad placement opportunities.
The new book is titled “A Work In Progress” and will feature many photos taken by him and of him by others. “I do a couple lighter topics like my childhood, my upbringing, my family, stories from school, dropping out of school and moving to Los Angeles,” Franta explains in his new video “I Have A Secret.”
But it’s not all light reading because there has to be at least a few chapters on coming to accept his sexuality. (After all, this is the reason he is writing a book)
I’ve been waiting on this news all year.
Yesterday in an extremely honest and heartfelt video, Connor Franta came out as gay. To many observant fans, this is not a huge shock. There had been whispers all year but a respectfulness was kept in the YouTube community. When Connor did come out yesterday it was on his own terms.
I was not expecting to be so moved by Connor’s story. I’ve seen many coming out story videos but none of them were so identical to my experience. There were moments in his video that hit me so hard. And I am sure for thousands of other gays and lesbians they felt similarly.
